Howard and Abby Milstein host an evening with Henry Louis Gates, Jr. to launch "Reconstruction: America After the Civil War"

On March 4, 2019, Howard and Abby Milstein hosted an evening with Henry Louis Gates, Jr. to launch his new PBS series entitled, “Reconstruction: America After the Civil War.” This is a four hour series that explores the United States’ emergence from the Civil War and Slavery and the road to a vision of interracial democracy 150 years later. The series follows the history of Reconstruction, the decade following the Civil War, through the first part of the 20th century. The evening featured a keynote address by Henry Louis Gates, Jr. and a moderated panel discussion.
