Howard Milstein Selected as Subject of Wall Street Journal's "Donor of the Day" Column

August 8th, 2011

Howard Milstein was selected by the Wall Street Journal as the subject of its Donor of the Day column, marking his contribution to support the publication of Art for the Heart: Remembering 9/11. Art for the Heart compiles artwork created by children who lost a parent on September 11.

The book is being published in association with the National September 11 Memorial and Museum, on whose board Howard sits, and will benefit the Museum. “It’s a wonderful book,” Howard told the Wall Street Journal. “It’s supportive of the people who had these losses, and I think it’s an opportunity for people to remember what happened.” The article also notes his recent memorial gift of art constructed of steel that was part of the World Trade Center to September 11 victims’ families, and his other philanthropic activities. The Journal reports that Howard’s latest project is the Milstein Southeast Asia Medical Foundation, to fund research in hematology, dermatology, and other areas.
